Dinner PhotoThe Chief Executives of PBS, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and fifteen public television stations joined executives from United Way of America, United Way of the Bay Area, The San Francisco Foundation, and the Benton Foundation gather at Delancey Street Restaurant for a dinner meeting to discuss and support "Celebrating Solutions! scheduled to air nationwide on PBS during September of 2003.

S.F. Man Aims for Activism by Media

Ellison Horne and his backers are urging newspapers, radio and TV stations to raise awareness through regular features on community solutions. The Mercury News has committed to the idea.

At Home for the Holidays

Celebrating Solutions! is the story of what happens when people come together to make a difference in their neighborhoods and communities. Ellison Horne, the project's founder and executive producer, learned this powerful lesson from his father. Although Ellison Horne Sr. never learned to read or write, he was considered a valuable asset to his community. The Seattle Times told his story in a front page article that appeared on his 80th birthday, December 25, 1999. Celebrating Solutions! is dedicated to the legacy of people like Ellison Horne Sr. (1919-2002), who give true meaning to the word, hero.
